Welcome to the blog. This is the place where you’ll get random dispatches about…well, everything.
Seriously, anything goes here. Maybe a status report on the latest project in my never-ending word pipeline. Or a few notes about an upcoming convention or book fair on my calendar, or maybe a recap of one such event that I’ve recently attended. A bit of fiction that’s too small or too offbeat to fit in any of the conventional spaces. Observations about the sometimes daunting, often mysterious, but always fulfilling process of spinning stories out of thin air. A nod to a pivotal moment in history. An essay about some cherished slice of pop culture from a bygone era, like a long-forgotten top-40 one-hit wonder or an animated black-and-white memory from a long-ago Saturday morning. A favorite B movie or a classic bit of film noir. A jazz legend or a rock icon. A pulp hero or a caped wonder. Or any other random sampling from the hundreds of millions of impulses that are constantly bouncing around inside my head.
The plan is to post something new here every seven to ten days. I’ll do my best to keep things interesting and entertaining, but that eternal question about a tree falling in a forest has always made me wonder, so be sure to come back often and catch the signal.
