Just a Short announcement…
Flinch Books, the small press publishing venture that I co-founded in 2015, will be a sponsor at this year’s ShortCon in Alexandria, Virginia, on June 6. Now in its third year, ShortCon is a one-day conference for writers of short crime fiction.
As part of the sponsorship arrangement, copies of Occupied Pulp, Flinch Books’ 2021 anthology of post-WWII crime/mystery fiction, will be distributed to conference attendees. Flinch is proud to support ShortCon, and we appreciate the invitation from conference organizers and moderators Michael Bracken and Stacy Woodson.
In addition to Michael and Stacy, I met some great folks when I attended this event last year for the first time, and I’ve already made my arrangements to return this spring. This year’s presenters will include Gary Phillips, Michele Slung and Art Taylor.
At this writing, registration for ShortCon 2026 is still open if you want to get in on the action. The website (in the link above) also includes a portal to book a reservation at the nearby Westin Alexandria Old Town.
